Business leaders will often believe that their business totally depends on them being present and active at all times. They think that by only being completely involved with their business will it be successful.
The truth is the more immersed that you are in your business then the chances are that you will be experiencing tiredness and less focus, which will reduce your opportunities for success.
What you need is to get away from the business and let your mind have a rest from the pressures of business and to instead fill your mind with non-business thoughts.
Delegate your responsibilities and take a break away from your intense business activities for a while and allow yourself to be refreshed and rejuvenated.
Find yourself a great holiday destination where you can unwind and recharge your business battery for the next set of business challenges which will be waiting for you.

Business Success With Power Dressing
The success of a business leader is determined by their ability, knowledge and the way that they apply them to their business.
But just as important is how a business leader, whether male or female presents themselves, especially in the way that they dress.
Before we get to the type of clothes that should be worn to enhance a business leader's overall perceived authority, let us first talk about their general appearance.
Women leaders should have well cut, styled hair, wear minimal makeup and have excellent manicure; men leaders should be just as well groomed with short hair style, clean shaven and again have excellent manicure.
When it comes to dressing for business you should always remember that as a leader your clothes will create your professional image and can be used to influence the people around you.
In business gaining success in what you do is about achieving a position of power and influence.
Women leaders should think carefully about their business attire and the messages that it may express. There is no need to think that because business is biased towards a man's world that you need to wear trousers.
The best look for achieving a position of power and influence for women leaders would be a fashionable well styled red blouse, a black skirt that is neither too short or too tight and black shoes that have medium high heels.
For men leaders a black or dark blue suit, black clean shoes, white shirt and red tie would really establish them as serious business leaders that have the authority and experience for success.
Light blue or pink shirts with multi coloured ties would only normally be worn by subordinates not business leaders.
Many people will strongly advocate the casual look for business dress, but just take a look around the business world and see what the successful business leaders are wearing.
To be successful in business you should be using the 'power dressing' to its fullest potential.

Allow your business instincts to take control, listen to them and then do whatever your business instincts say you should do. Trust your natural instincts; believe in them, they will not lead you astray.
Business leaders would normally use their well established traditional approaches to try to solve their business problems, but most times they find that they are not very successful.
Many business leaders have learned that by trusting their instincts and listening to them, they are able to immediately find the right solutions for their current business problems.
The reason is this; when you are under a huge amount of pressure, due to so many business challenges, you will not be completely rational in your thoughts.
This feeling of uncertainty releases adrenalin into your body and mind, which will cause your senses to be more responsive. Now your natural business instincts are at their greatest potential.
The instincts are your survival mechanism and they will start to send messages to your brain to help you to work out your current business problems.

Listening To The Voice of Your Customers
How do great companies get it right, delivering consistently high customer satisfaction and translating it into profitable growth.
It is because they:
* Understand the financial link between satisfaction and profits
* Turn customers who are simply "satisfied" into vocal advocates for their business
* Build a culture of customer satisfaction from the top down
* Empower frontline employees to do the right thing
* Use problem resolution as an opportunity to make new fans
Customer satisfaction reports offer tactical advice for companies large or small, for product manufacturers, service providers, and retailers alike.
They will deliver customer research and a road map to developing specific policies and processes.
Great companies don't just talk the talk, but walk the walk every day and other companies that ignore the voice of the customer, do so with dire consequences.
Customers are no longer passive recipients, they have been transformed by the Internet and the availability of knowledge into a powerful force.
Buyers in auto dealerships, patients in hospitals, travelers in hotels are now unwilling to compromise. They have high expectations and the data to back them up.
The customer's voice is louder and clearer than ever, and attention must be paid.

Business Communication Starts With Listening
The three key business communication skills which are needed by a business leader are as follows:
Writing Skills
Presentation Skills
Listening Skills
All business leaders who are serious about their role should become totally competent in all three of these business communication skills.
Most business leaders focus on the first two business communication skills and only occasionally remember to learn and use properly the third business communication skill of listening.
For you to have success as a business leader you should understand that in everything that you do in your business, all of your business communication starts with listening.
The role of a business leader is to listen, decide and act. Only by listening first can you know if you have all the information that you need to make the right decision.
Before you use either of the other two business communication skills, writing or presenting, it is most important that you start by listening before you write or present what it is that you want to express.
By carefully listening first you will improve your writing, your presentations and your overall business leader role.
The business communication of listening is an acquired skill that takes patience to learn and just as much patience to implement in your everyday business life.
Once you have mastered this business communication skill everything else in your business becomes so much easier.

Learning Business From The Experts
During my business life the amount of knowledge that I have gained has been from my own experiences, the excellent business leaders that I have had the pleasure to rub shoulders with and the many books that I have read by experts in the field of business.
More Success For Business Leaders has used all of that knowledge to provide the business insights that are enabling many new as well as established business leaders to increase their business success.
Sometimes I have provided topical comment on current business activities, advice from my own business experiences, related stories about other business leaders that I have met and recommended a particular book that would give even more business insight to the subject being discussed.
Gradually over time I have found that all of these approaches have become merged and nowadays it is a mixture of my experiences, other leaders experiences and recommended expert authors.
This more complete approach to providing business insights gives you, the reader, a much fuller view of the subject that is being discussed and also provides a solid reference for the future.

Turning Good Managers Into Great Leaders
This is the best business book I have encountered in the many years that I have been in business, because it balances reality against theory, and effectively reconciles the two.
It is really a bonus that the authors did not impose academic terminology on those of us in the real business world.
This book takes the time to quantify and then explain how perceptions of leaders translate into actions by those they lead.
The best thing about the book is that it lists specific levels of characteristics and competencies that distinguish adequate from excellent.
A reader can quickly paint a self portrait (or picture of fellow leaders, for that matter) that reveals strengths and flaws. Then, one can easily identify what is needed to move up the ladder of respect and esteem.
The hard part is that many leaders, as they say in the book, "think that being 'good' is good enough".
For those who truly have an interest in greatness, this book gives the recipe.

Great Leaders Inspire Results
Taking over the top job, whether it’s the CEO of a company or the manager of a department, is never easy. When done the right way, it results in inspired leadership; when done the wrong way, it can lead to disaster.
To be effective, the people in charge must give their team a reason to believe in their talents and their ability to get people to work together.
Great leadership requires decisiveness, authority, conviction, compassion, and, most important, the ability to set the right example. It would seem easy, but it takes a lifetime of trying to put it into practice.
The traits and abilities leaders need to know to inspire others to follow them.
listen for ideas • manage around obstacles • defuse tension • check their egos • stand up for what they believe in • manage crises • develop team confidence • recruit good people • deliver bad news • handle defeat • engage their enemies
Visionary leaders will learn how to build trust, drive results, and win the respect of the people they lead.
