Business Success With Power Dressing

The success of a business leader is determined by their ability, knowledge and the way that they apply them to their business.

But just as important is how a business leader, whether male or female presents themselves, especially in the way that they dress.

Before we get to the type of clothes that should be worn to enhance a business leader's overall perceived authority, let us first talk about their general appearance.

Women leaders should have well cut, styled hair, wear minimal makeup and have excellent manicure; men leaders should be just as well groomed with short hair style, clean shaven and again have excellent manicure.

When it comes to dressing for business you should always remember that as a leader your clothes will create your professional image and can be used to influence the people around you.

In business gaining success in what you do is about achieving a position of power and influence.

Women leaders should think carefully about their business attire and the messages that it may express. There is no need to think that because business is biased towards a man's world that you need to wear trousers.

The best look for achieving a position of power and influence for women leaders would be a fashionable well styled red blouse, a black skirt that is neither too short or too tight and black shoes that have medium high heels.

For men leaders a black or dark blue suit, black clean shoes, white shirt and red tie would really establish them as serious business leaders that have the authority and experience for success.

Light blue or pink shirts with multi coloured ties would only normally be worn by subordinates not business leaders.

Many people will strongly advocate the casual look for business dress, but just take a look around the business world and see what the successful business leaders are wearing.

To be successful in business you should be using the 'power dressing' to its fullest potential.
