Looking On The Bright Side Of Life

We had the financial crisis, an economic downturn, a deep recession, which brought job losses, home foreclosures, as well as inflation and the inevitable higher prices.

But everybody seems to be acting as if the total situation is all doom and gloom.

Let us just for a moment look on the bright side of life and see things a little more realistically; what has happened is nothing more than a loss of confidence.

Take a look around you, your neighbour is still the same person, you have not lost confidence in them, your community is still the same and you have not lost confidence in that either.

The politicians are still the same, you have not lost confidence in them, otherwise you would not have voted for them to be elected.

The bank buildings are still the same and so are the people who work in them, what you have lost confidence in is whether your money is safe as an investment.

Fundamentally what has broken down is the system, the society that we all live in and work in everyday is usually a well oiled machine that runs very smoothly.

But what has happened is that the oil has started to be reduced, which means that the machine, which is our society, cannot run as smoothly.

The oil that I am talking about is money. And there is still money in the financial system, not all of it has disappeared.

It is just that the people, who determine how that money is moved about, have lost confidence in each other and have slowed down the whole process.

These people are the ones that are involved in the financial institutions of this world and they talk about liquidity as being the problem, what they are saying, is that the money is not running like oil through the system.

Yes, all of this will have an impact on our lives, but let us put it into perspective, if your car runs out of oil, then it will stop and you cannot use it for a while, but once you put oil back into it again, then it will run smoothly and you can continue your journey.

You don’t get despondent about it and start spreading doom and gloom because of it. Well the journey of life also has its interruptions and you should treat it in the same way.

Its not all doom and gloom, we will be continuing our journey again and it will soon all be forgotten.
